Business Opportunities and Synergies Between Qatar and Southern California Companies Discussed in Virtual Event

The US-Qatar Business Council, the Commercial Attaché Office in the United States for the State of Qatar, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a virtual discussion on September 14th to highlight areas of interest and opportunities to further economic cooperation between the State of Qatar and companies based in Southern California. The discussion comes as Qatar drives ambitious, economic diversification by investing in strategic sectors that include sports and entertainment, cleantech, smart cities, e-sports, and gaming.

The discussion featured five guest speakers:

• Mohammed Barakat, Managing Director of USQBC;
• Martin Breidsprecher, Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce;
• The Honorable Antonio Villaraigosa, 41st Mayor of Los Angeles;
• Fahad Al-Dosari, Commercial Attaché in the US for the State of Qatar;
• Peter McPartlin, Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Operations, Paramount Pictures
