Washington, DC— His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Jaham Al Kuwari bade farewell to his “second home” of Washington DC at a reception held on the evening of November 16, 2016 at DC City Center, the center piece of Qatari investment in the Nation’s Capital. Ambassador Al Kuwari also launched his new book “Shared Goals, Shared Future” at the reception.
The US-Qatar Business Council’s team was in attendance at the event. The Council’s President, Ambassador Patrick N. Theros, delivered remarks, commending Ambassador Al Kuwari for his work in Washington. “We have Ambassador Al Kuwari as a candidate for being a native Washingtonian” (Washington being the Ambassador’s first assignment as a diplomat twenty years ago) and presented him with a farewell gift of a book on Washington as it once was and as it is today.
Ambassador Al Kuwari’s remarks focused on his time as Ambassador and the longstanding connections he has made during his three years in Washington, DC. He recounted his work with Qatar Katrina Fund, the $100 million fund to rebuild the city of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. During his time as Ambassador, the Embassy published a book detailing the Fund’s accomplishments on the tenth anniversary of the hurricane.

After Rohrabacher’s remarks, students from Qatar Foundation International delivered a gift to the Ambassador, thanking him for his commitment to education.
