USQBC Managing Director Attends Money 20/20

From October 22 to 25, Mohammed Barakat, the US-Qatar Business Council’s Managing Director attended the Money 20/20 Conference, the World’s Largest Payments & Financial Services Innovation Event, in Las Vegas.
While at the conference, Mr. Barakat spoke with representatives from the leading companies in the financial services industry about exploring business opportunities in Qatar and the greater Middle East.
“I’ve found that far too often entrepreneurs and startups focus much of their attention to Europe, the US, and Asia, but overlook the booming business market in the Middle East,” said Mr. Barakat.
“I spent most of my trip talking to business leaders about the growing opportunities in Qatar and the Middle East, and how USQBC can help them grow their businesses,” continued Mr. Barakat.
The Money 20/20 Conference had over 10,000 attendees including more than 1,000 CEOs and 500 speakers. Over 3,000 companies were represented from 75 countries around the world.
Representatives from MoneyGram (a USQBC member), Google, Facebook, Square, Visa, Walmart, PayPal, Bank of America, and more all discussed the latest business and technological advances in the financial services and payment sectors.
Mr. Barakat and The US-Qatar Business Council, as always, will continue to explore exciting and innovative opportunities to grow our thriving bilateral relationship.
