USQBC Hosts Evening Reception For SelectUSA Summit

WASHINGTON - The US-Qatar Business Council (USQBC) proudly hosted an evening reception in conjunction with the SelectUSA Summit, bringing together industry leaders and entrepreneurs to foster meaningful conversations and potential collaborations. The event featured keynote speeches from notable figures, including USQBC Managing Director and Treasurer of the Board of Directors Moe H. Barakat, USQBC Doha Managing Director Ms. Sheikha Mayes H. Al Thani, US Ambassador to Qatar Timmy Davis, Mr. Mohammed Al-Mannai, Head of QIA Advisory USA, and Deputy Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Services, Jim Golsen.

USQBC Managing Director Moe H. Barakat emphasized the critical role of US-Qatar economic ties in driving innovation and growth. "Every investment made in the United States has been fruitful. We are thankful to our Qatari friends for their growing investments in the United States, across various sectors from Qatar Investment Authority to Qatar Energy, and the private sector," said Barakat.

USQBC Doha Office Managing Director Ms. Sheikha Mayes H. Al Thani highlighted the growing opportunities in the Qatari market. "Our close working relationships are pivotal in fostering robust business environments and driving innovation. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and advancing our mutual goals," stated Al Thani.

US Ambassador to Qatar Timmy Davis spoke about the strategic partnership between the United States and Qatar, underscoring the mutual benefits of increased trade and investment. 

Mr. Mohammed Al-Mannai, Head of QIA Advisory USA, discussed the strategic initiatives undertaken by the Qatar Investment Authority to enhance investment opportunities in the United States. "It is an honor to be part of this journey of partnerships. We are committed to continuing to grow and bring people together," said Al-Mannai.

Lastly, Deputy Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Services, Jim Golsen, provided valuable insights about the support available for businesses looking to expand internationally. "The collaboration between US and Qatari businesses is strong, and we look forward to seeing it grow further," remarked Golsen.
