On December 16, 2015 the US-Qatar Business Council’s Board of Directors met at the Washington, DC offices of USQBC Founding Member, ConocoPhillips.
The meeting was opened by the President of the Board, Ambassador Patrick N. Theros who thanked our Founding Members for their support of USQBC. This was the second meeting of the Board of Directors this year. The Board discussed the progress and developments of USQBC in 2015, and plans for 2016.During the meeting Mohammed Barakat discussed USQBC’s new communications strategy. Additionally, he stressed the importance of generating new members in both the United States and Qatar to grow USQBC’s mission. He also highlighted some of USQBC’s objectives for 2016.
The Board of Directors agreed with the objectives outlined, and during the Executive Session of the meeting they discussed the need for USQBC to develop a strong outreach program to highlight operations in the United States and Qatar. The primary focus of this outreach program would be to support the USQBC’s primary mission, as the only American organization focused solely on enhancing the US-Qatari bilateral business relationship.
During the Executive Session, the Board of Directors also confirmed the appointment of Mohammed Barakat as the Managing Director of USQBC. Mr. Barakat previously served as USQBC’s Director. We congratulate Mr. Barakat on his appointment.
