Emiri Decree No. 1 of 2016 Reshuffles Cabinet of Ministries
January 27, 2016— Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, issued an Emiri Decree (No. 1 of 2016) that reshuffled some of the State’s 18 ministries.
The following appointments were made:
- His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; (Bio)
- His Excellency Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, as well as a member of the Council of Ministers; (Bio)
- His Excellency Salah bin Ghanem al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports; (Bio)
- His Excellency Issa bin Saad al-Naimi Juffali, Minister for Administrative Development and Labor and Social Affairs; (Bio)
- His Excellency Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications; (Bio)
- His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality and the Environment; (Bio)
- Her Excellency Hanan Al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health; (Bio)
Emiri Decree No. 2 appointed HE Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah as advisor to His Highness the Emir for Defense Affairs, with the rank of prime minister.
