NEW YORK, NY - SEPTEMBER 20, 2017: The US-Qatar Business Council (USQBC) on Wednesday signed a letter of intent with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the State of Qatar at the University Club in New York City.
The letter of intention was signed during a ceremony by His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, the Minister of Economy & Commerce of the State of Qatar, and Mohammed Barakat, the Managing Director of USQBC.
USQBC is the premier vehicle for enhancing bilateral commerce between the United States and the State of Qatar.
The letter of intent serves to achieve certain goals set forth between the two entities including but not limited to, enhancing and expanding the role of the USQBC, increasing investments in the United States and Qatar, providing assistance to companies engaging in trade and investment between the United States and Qatar, supporting the private sector in Qatar, as well as increasing US and Qatari membership with USQBC.
This agreement brings together two organizations that fundamentally share the same goal of enhancing the private sector in Qatar and enhancing trade between the US and Qatar.
"This agreement formalizes our efforts not just to preserve but to power and grow our bilateral business relationship and we are grateful to have the deep support of His Excellency the Minister and the entire Ministry of Economy & Commerce," said Mr. Barakat on the occasion of the signing.
In addition to working with the Ministry of Economy & Commerce in Qatar, USQBC works closely with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington, DC. USQBC appreciates the support of both the Ministry and the Embassy of the State of Qatar.

نيويورك، نيويورك – 20 أيلول/سبتمبر 2017: نيويورك، نيويورك – 20 أيلول/سبتمبر 2017: وقع مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري يوم الأربعاء خطاب نوايا مع وزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة القطرية في يونيفيرستي كلوب في مدينة نيويورك.
تم توقيع خطاب النوايا في خلال حفل من قبل سعادة وزير الاقتصاد والتجارة القطري الشيخ أحمد بن جاسم آل ثاني والمدير التنفيذي لمجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري السيد محمد بركات.
مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري هو المحرك الرئيسي لتعزيز التجارة الثنائية بين الولايات المتحدة وقطر.
يهدف خطاب النوايا إلى تحقيق أهداف معينة تم تحديدها بين الكيانين، بما في ذلك على سبيل المثال لا الحصر تعزيز دور مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري وتوسيعه، وزيادة الاستثمارات في الولايات المتحدة وقطر، وتقديم المساعدة للشركات التي تشارك في التجارة والاستثمار بين الولايات المتحدة وقطر، ودعم القطاع الخاص في قطر، وزيادة العضوية الأمريكية والقطرية في مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري.
يجمع هذا الاتفاق منظمتين تتشاركان بالأساس في هدف واحد يتمثل في تعزيز القطاع الخاص في قطر وتعزيز التجارة بين الولايات المتحدة وقطر.
وقال سعادة الشيخ أحمد بن جاسم بن محمد آل ثاني وزير الاقتصاد والتجارة أن توقيع خطاب النوايا بين الجانبين لبنة مهمة في مسيرة التعاون الاقتصادي والاستثماري بين قطر والولايات المتحدة، تسهم في تعزيز جسور التواصل بين قطاعي الأعمال لإقامة مشاريع مشتركة وتيسير الإجراءات اللازمة.
وقال السيد بركات بمناسبة التوقيع: “يضفي هذا الاتفاق الطابع الرسمي على جهودنا، ليس للحفاظ على علاقاتنا التجارية الثنائية فحسب، بل أيضاً لشحذها وتطويرها، ونحن ممتنون للدعم العميق من معالي الوزير ووزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة بكاملها.”
وبالإضافة إلى العمل مع وزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة في قطر، يعمل مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري بشكل وثيق مع السفارة القطرية في العاصمة واشنطن. ويقدّر مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي-القطري الدعم الذي يتلقاه من كل من الوزارة وسفارة دولة قطر.
